Poori


Poori is the most popular Indian dish which is not only delicious & simple to make as well. Spicy potato / vegetable masala are normally served with this. Poori is prepared in different ways by using all purpose flour / wheat flour or by mixing both. Addition of rava will makes the poori little crispy. Unlike chapathi dough, this dough needs to be little stiff. Most commonly eaten breakfast menu & kids will just love this :)

Ingredients :
  1. Wheat flour - 2 cups
  2. Rava (semolina) - 1 tbsp
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  5. Curd - 1 tbsp
  6. Hot oil - 1 tbsp
  7. Water - approx 1 cup
  8. Oil for deep frying
Method :

1. Combine wheat flour, salt, sugar, curd & hot oil. Slow
ly add the water, just enough to form a firm dough & knead till smooth.

2. Cover & let rest for 1/2 hr & knead again briefly.

3. Divide the dough into small balls (golf-ball size) & roll out into 6" rounds.

4. Heat oil in the deep frying pan & fry the poori one at a time. Turn & fry till light brown & puff.


Serve immediately.
