Besan Ladoo

Besan Ladoo are creamy, golden-hued, melt-in-your-mouth dessert balls often made during festivals and special occasions. One of the easiest Diwali recipes, besan ladoo or ladoo are made with besan/gram flour, ghee and sugar laced with aromatic cardamom.

Ingredients :

  1. Ghee - 1/2 cup
  2. Gram flour - 1 cup
  3. Semolina / Rava - 1/2 cup
  4. Sugar - 1 cup
  5. Cardamom - 4 nos
  6. Nuts, sliced 
Method :

In Tamil

1.  Heat 1/4 cup of ghee in the non-stick pan, add gram flour & semolina.  Dry roast over medium heat for at least 10 mins.  

2.  After 10 mins of roasting, add another 1/4 cup of ghee & continue roasting for another 15 mins.  The mixture turns golden brown & little wet.  Switch off the flame.  Allow the mixture to cool a bit.

3.  Meanwhile, grind together sugar & cardamom to fine powder.  Mix the sugar powder & sliced nuts to the besan mixture.  

4.  When the mixture is warm, make ladoos to the desired size.  

5.  Store it in air tight container for longer shelf life.
