Restaurant Style Chicken Curry


Making restaurant style chicken curry at home doesn't have to be intimidating. This recipe comes together in under an hour and is an excellent way to add some versatility to your weeknight dinner arsenal. And it's primarily comprised of ingredients you probably already have on hand—chicken, onions, garlic, spices and  tomato puree.


Ingredients :

For Marination :

  1. Chicken - 3/4 kg
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Turmeric power - 1/2 tsp
  5. Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  6. Juice from 1/2 lemon
Mix all the ingredients together & marinate the chicken for at least 1/2 hr, preferably overnight.


Spice Paste :

  1. Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  2. Onion - 1 large sized
  3. Ginger pcs - 1 tsp
  4. Garlic - 3 pods
  5. Red chilly - 2 nos
  6. Cinnamon stick
  7. Cloves- 3 nos
  8. Bayleaf
Grind them together to smooth paste.

Others:
  1. Oil - 2 tbsp
  2. Garam masala - 1 tsp
  3. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  4. Chilly powder - to taste
  5. Tomato puree - 1/2 cup
  6. Water -  1 cup
  7. Juice of 1/2 lemon
  8. Coriander leaves, for garnishing

Method :



1.  Heat oil in the pan, add marinated chicken & stir fry for 5 mins.

2.  Add spice paste to the chicken & cook.

3.  Add garam masala, coriander powder, chilly powder, tomato puree & water.  Cover & cook the chicken over medium heat for 10 to 15 mins or until done.

4.  Finally, add juice of 1/2 lemon & garnish it with coriander leaves.
