Kasoori Methi Chicken Curry !!!


Simple chicken curry, flavoured with dried fenugreek leaves.  Try this using fresh methi leaves for variation.


Ingredients :

  1. Chicken - 1 kg
  2. Onions - 2 nos
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  4. Kasoori methi - 1 tbsp
  5. Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  6. Oil - 1 tbsp
  7. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  8. Tomatoes - 2 nos
  9. Yoghurt - 1 small cup
  10. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  12. Cumin powder - 1 tbsp
  13. Cream - 3 tbsp
  14. Coriander leaves
  15. Mint leaves - 1 tbsp
  16. Green chillies 
  17. Salt to taste
  18. Garam masala - 1 tbsp

Method :

1.   Clean and cut the chicken into medium sized pieces.  Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, salt and chilly powder for 30 mins.

2.   Meanwhile make tomato puree and keep aside.

3.   Heat oil in the pan, add ginger garlic paste, finely chopped onions, tomato puree and salt to taste.  Saute till tender.


4.   Add yoghurt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, kasoori methi and cook till done.

5.   Finally, add cream, coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies(if desired) and garam masala.


Serve with rice / rotis.
